Climate Campaign Spring 2011

The Sierra Club, the Energy Action Coalition and many other groups want to protect the health of our communities by phasing out coal burning in Massachusetts. To prevent rapid climate change, SJSF is also taking a lead by campaigning for the phase out and advocating for clean electricity in our state.

Besides the work we do on our campuses and in our communities, we plan on meeting these coals through three initiatives: climate change art shows, phase-out coal marches, and legislative action. Read more about each initiative by clicking on the links below.

Legislative Measures

SJSF is active in international climate initiatives. In the Fall of 2010 leading up the the UN climate talks in Cancun, Mexico, SJSF organized a Student Conference of the Parties, that was held in partnership with the Wesleyan Pricing Carbon Conference. You can read more about the event and see footage of the conference on our “Declaration for Clean Energy page.
